Experimental investigation on synergistic flow-induced oscillation of three rough tandem-cylinders in hydrokinetic energy conversion

ArticleApril 2024

Harnessing hydrokinetic energy via FIO of three rough tandem cylinders; experiments varied spacing, damping, stiffness, and Reynolds number.

Impact: Achieved 75% of Betz limit for converted power. Galloping harnessed power 3-4 times greater than VIV. Three cylinders harnessed 3.4 to 26.4 times the power of a single isolated cylinder.

Three Cylinders with Large Turbulence Stimulation in Flow Induced Oscillations (VIV & Galloping): Experimental Data

Technical ReportJanuary 2023

Investigates FIO (VIV & galloping) in three cylinders with large turbulence stimulation, exploring PTC application and mechanical power analysis.

Impact: Relevant to VIVACE converter for hydrokinetic energy harnessing. PTC enhances FIO and broadens high-response flow speed range.

Effect of Obesity on Retinal Integrity in African Americans and Caucasian Americans With Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis

ArticleNovember 2021

Investigates obesity's impact on retinal structures in RRMS patients (AAs vs. CAs) using OCT to measure retinal parameters.

Impact: Obesity is associated with retinal structural abnormalities in RRMS patients, with a potentially more pronounced impact in African Americans. Large longitudinal studies are needed for validation.
